Have a question or idea?

I tried to think of everything, but I know sometimes it’s just easier to ask. If one of the packages doesn’t fit what you’re looking for, you have a question, an idea, or just want to say hi, drop a line below!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the next steps when I hire you?

Contact me on one of the pages with your preferred package. I will email, call, or text you within three business days to learn more about what you’re looking for. Depending on the service, planning could take a few minutes or may require a longer meeting. We’ll confirm dates, times, additional vendors, discuss sets and props. I will send over a simple contract for individuals or a Professional Services Agreement for companies/organizations, along with a Statement of Work. You sign the contract and SOW then I send an invoice. Payment is due on date of shoot. Photos are delivered within two weeks, but often a few days.

Do you retouch, AKA “photoshop”?

It depends. For commercial work and portraits, I do minimal retouching on blemishes and non-permanent marks, such as pimples, bruises, stray hairs, clothing stains, dirt, and dust. I do not do major retouching that alters the way a person looks in real life. I do not smooth skin with AI or other skin distorting software. Skin is real, natural and beautiful. I use lighting to enhance a person’s natural beauty.

For editorial work, I do very little edits other than color correction.

What does each session price include?

All session pricing includes planning conversation, travel time (within Reno-Sparks), set up, shoot time, break down, return travel, editing time, delivery, one round of retouch requests or additional images from roll that were not initially included due to my perfectionism. Any additional fees for long-distance travel (outside Reno-Sparks), additional equipment rentals, prop or set purchases are not included in the existing package price and will be discussed ahead of time.

What kind of gear do you use?

A combination of Nikon cameras, lenses, flashes and Pro-Master lights, Phottix softboxes, MagMod modifiers, Westcott backdrops.

Can I use photos you’ve taken of my business?

It depends! If you’ve hired me for services, your contract will include usage rights, which I generally allow full usage rights. However, if I’ve taken photos of your business or you for a publication (editorial use), I retain the copyright and am giving the publication limited use to publish them for that assignment. If you’d like to use the photos for your business, especially commercial use (advertising/marketing), then that requires a separate contract and payment/licensing.
